Terms of use

Last updated: 6 November 2026 (draft, not yet published)

In short

  • ArthaSaathi helps you find money held by institutions and prepares documents to claim it. You submit every claim yourself.

  • We prepare documents from the information you give us, using formats published by the institutions concerned. We give information and documents, not legal, investment, tax or financial advice.

  • Check every document before you sign or submit it. For disputes, wills that may be challenged, property or large sums, consult a lawyer.

  • Use ArthaSaathi only for your own money, or for an estate or person you are entitled to act for.

How you may read this draft: text in bold is new or changed compared with the 28 October draft. Text not in bold is unchanged. Wording removed from the original is listed at the end.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use arthasaathi.com and its tools (the “service”). The service is operated by Aashima Taneja, a sole proprietor (GSTIN 27ACWPN2110Q1Z0), with her registered address at 102, Building No. 3, Meridien Apartments, Veera Desai Road, Andheri (W), Mumbai 400058 (“we”, “us”). Our contact details are in section 16.

When you buy a claim docket, you accept these terms, our Refunds and cancellation policy and our Privacy policy by ticking the box at checkout. If you only use the free tools, you accept these terms by continuing to use the service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

2. What ArthaSaathi does

The service lets you:

  • read statements you have downloaded, in your own browser, to build a money map of institutions that may hold money for you or someone you act for;

  • follow guided steps for the official unclaimed-money searches run by public bodies and institutions; and

  • buy a claim docket: forms, letters and document formats pre-filled from the information you entered, together with the institution’s own checklist of what to attach and how to submit for the order.

Where an institution publishes a prescribed form or format, our docket uses it as published, and we tell you which document that is and where it comes from. Where we provide our own template, we say so. In both cases the content comes from what you type in. We place your information in the document; we do not decide what your claim should say.

3. What ArthaSaathi does not do

  • We are an information and document-preparation service. We do not provide legal services. We do not represent you before any institution, court or authority, and we do not advise on your particular legal situation. In particular, we do not decide or advise who is a legal heir, what share anyone is entitled to, whether a will is valid, or whether you need probate or a succession certificate.

  • We do not give investment, tax or financial advice. We do not recommend whether to redeem, hold, sell, transfer or reinvest any security, fund unit or other asset, or what to do with money you recover. Where a process offers options, we describe what the institution offers and leave the choice to you. For tax questions, speak to a qualified professional.

  • We do not file claims or applications for you. We cannot guarantee that any institution will accept a claim, or how long it will take.

  • We are not affiliated with or endorsed by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, EPFO, IEPFA or any bank, fund house, depository, registrar or insurer. Official portals we link to are run by those bodies under their own terms.

Rules, forms and procedures change, and can differ by state and institution. We work to keep our content current, but you should check each document against the institution’s current requirements before signing or submitting it, and consult a qualified lawyer where an estate is disputed, involves a will that may be challenged, property, or significant sums.

4. Who can use the service

You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. You may use the service only for:

  • your own financial assets; or

  • the assets of another person, including someone who has died, where you are a nominee, legal heir, claimant, or otherwise entitled or authorized to act.

We do not verify your entitlement. You confirm it each time you use the service. You must not use the service to find or claim money you are not entitled to use, to deceive any institution, or with documents or information you are not entitled to use.

5. Your responsibilities

  • The money map and dockets are built from the documents and details you provide. You are responsible for their accuracy and for checking the output.

  • You sign and submit all documents yourself and are responsible for the statements and declarations in them, including affidavits and indemnity bonds. Making a false statement in an affidavit or to an institution can have serious legal consequences, including criminal laws.

  • Stamp duty, stamp paper, notarization, attestation and witness requirements differ by state and institution. Follow the institution’s instructions and the rules where you sign. Where we reproduce those instructions, we give the source and date; check them before you rely on them. If you are unsure, ask a notary, stamp vendor or lawyer.

  • Keep your device and any saved case file and passphrase secure.

  • Please do not email us your statements, passwords or identity documents. We do not need them to help you.

6. Prices, payment and delivery

Building a money map is free. Claim dockets are priced as shown at checkout, in Indian rupees, inclusive of GST. The checkout shows the institutions covered, the documents included, the price and the GST amount before you pay. Payment is taken through Razorpay when you download a docket, under Razorpay’s own terms. A docket is a digital product delivered when you download it. We issue a GST invoice for each purchase. We may change prices, but a change never affects a docket you have already bought.

7. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refunds and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Your dockets and our content

When you buy a docket, you may use, print and share it for the claim it was made for, including with family members, lawyers and the institutions concerned. Forms and formats published by institutions and public bodies belong to them, and you may use them as they permit. The site’s text, guides, our own templates, design and software, and our compilation of institution data belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them, or extract our templates or institution data for use in another product or service.

9. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorized access to the service, or use it to break any law.

10. Third-party sites

The service links to official portals and other websites we don’t control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your data.

11. Limitation of liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, to the extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for decisions, delays or errors of any institution, authority or court, or for losses caused by information you provided;

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or loss of profit or opportunity; and

  • our total liability to you for any claim relating to a docket is limited to the amount you paid for that docket.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

12. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for losses we suffer to the extent they are caused by your use of the service to claim assets you were not entitled to, or your use of documents or information you were not entitled to use.

13. Suspension and changes to the service

We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service. We may refuse service to anyone who breaks these terms, after reasonable notice where that is practicable. If we stop the service before you have been able to download a docket you paid for, we will refund you. Dockets you have already downloaded remain yours to use.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one shown on this page when you make a purchase or, if you are only using the free tools, when you use the service. We will change the date at the top when we update them. If we have your email address and the change is material, we will tell you by email.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a complaint, please contact us first (see section 16 and the Contact us page); most problems can be fixed quickly. Nothing in these terms stops you from approaching a consumer commission, including the one where you live or work. Subject to that, the courts at Mumbai have jurisdiction.
